What is GREENGUARD?
The GREENGUARD Environmental InstituteTM is a non-profit organization that is the world's leading authority on low-emitting interior products and building materials.
The GREENGUARDTM Certification Program is a valuable tool for architects, designers, engineers and builders that want to locate, specify, and purchase low-emitting products for indoor environments. The GREENGUARD Certification Program tests for over 2,000 chemical emissions using criteria established by the World Health Organization as well as the EPA and other entities. The program identifies specific products that have been tested to ensure that their chemical and particle emissions meet stringent indoor air quality pollutant guidelines.
As consumers grow more aware of the importance of low-emitting products to maintain good indoor environmental quality, the demands for IEQ-friendly structures will only continue to rise. To be certain that products perform as claimed, it is important to look for independent certification programs such as GREENGUARD.
Knauf Insulation meets most stringent indoor air standards.
Knauf took the lead in providing IEQ (Indoor Environmental Quality) by becoming the first insulation manufacture to achieve GREENGUARD-certification for its building insulation batts, blankets and blowing wool. Today, Knauf remains committed to supplying low-emitting products, and works with the GREENGUARD Environmental Institute to provide third party certification of IEQ performance for many of our residential and commercial insulation products.
Knauf's GREENGUARD-Certified products are a crucial component to constructing environmentally sound building systems. For more abut GREENGUARD, see Greenguard.org or www.knaufinsulation.us.
